
Survey Project
The survey project involved going to different events in Logan to actively participate with the community in understanding the needs of community in regards to local infrastructure such as the roads and sidewalks. The local community had the chance to respond with their opinions in regards to these issues.

The start
The project commenced with the team members approaching the Logan Heights CDC, who were interested in surveying the community and their needs. Together, the team designed a survey that includes questions regarding street infrastructure i.e. potholes, street lighting, and sidewalk cracks. At the end of the project a story map was created to highlight the information found from the survey and examining parts of the community.



Surveying
The survey group actively engages with the Logan Heights community, collecting surveys on pressing issues regarding the community and its infrastructure. By attending local events and through direct conversations with community members in public spaces, their survey provided the opportunity to voice the community’s concerns and needs. The group’s objective is to visualize these needs and concerns through statistics, figures, and a story map that will make the data accessible to the Logan Heights community, stakeholders, planners, and scholars.






Results
The team surveyed approximately 400 residents around the streets of Logan Heights. The survey results revealed the prevailing frustration among community members regarding maintenance issues. It called to attention the urgent need for critical adjustments to sidewalks and roads to improve the overall condition of the Logan Heights area.

Lastly a ArcGIS story map was created to display results and findings from the project.
